* Day 5: Your humble abode

a part of my home...
this is basically our main floor, where we spend the most time. no upstairs or downstairs pics yet, maybe in a different post. we've been here 4 years and we put ALOT of work into this house to make it our home. (especially the backyard but that's a whole nother post) i'll do a separate post on the before and after pics of what we did. we didn't do any major renovations inside but alot of mini renos like painting, floors, etc. i painted my whole house 3 times already, everyone always makes fun of me for it. my bf says our house is losing square footage because of the coats of paint. ha ha. i like to change it up but this time i am very satisfied with the color and won't be changing it for a longgg time. i love doing mini home renos, especially DIY projects and love anything related to home decorating. im always doing something to improve or change things to my current taste which means i have alot of time on my hands hahaha ok enough talking.



the kitchen. the most important part of a house (other than bedroom) for me. i spend most of my time here, this is MY AREA. when anyone else especially my boyfriend goes in there i get nervous. he never puts things back where they belong, he gets crumbs and stuff on the counters n floor, etc. i am not OCD on cleaning but i like to keep my kitchen clean at all times. or try to. other areas i don't really care about (like my living room as you will see lol) i still want to do more to this kitchen (change backsplash n counters) but so far i love it. u should see the before pic, oak cabinets n all. EWWW















our living room. no matter how many times i clean it in a day it will always end up looking like this. kane has taken over! we spend alotttt of time here. kane watches tv, eats, plays here. i used to try to keep this room clean all the time but kane being almost 2yrs old, i gave up. i will only clean it maybe once a week or if we have guests coming over. otherwise it's kane's territory and what kane wants kane does. :D





this is where we throw everything when we come home or stop by before we leave the house. kane's jacket and scarf, diaper bag, my bag of the moment, kane's shoes, etc. kane will sit on this bench while getting ready to head out.





main floor powder room. in my pj's. hi! :) once i get home i have to have to change out of my street clothes into my pj's or home clothes. i hate wearing my outside clothes inside. dunno why. lol i like to be comfy once i step inside the house. even if it's for half an hour.



kane's playroom. this room has been through alot. it used to be a sitting room, then it became a poker room, and then when i had kane i changed it to his playroom. i had so much fun doing his playroom. i love this room! :) kane wanted to be in the picture, hi baby!





i handpainted each of these letters, took me so long lol luckily his name is short! haha


i cooked bun rieu for dinner today. super simple and super tasty. it's a vietnamese vermicelli soup with minced crab meat and one of my favorite dishes!
